Career
McHugh is an award-winning educator with strong business experience and deep community involvement.
In 1998 Ed joined the Nova Scotia Community College (NSCC) and was an Academic Chair (Business) for ten years. Since 2008 he has taught Business full time at NSCC (Ivany Campus). He also teaches Business part time at Saint Mary’s (since 1996), Dalhousie (1998) and Mount St. Vincent (1998) Universities in Halifax.
Prior to joining NSCC McHugh had a strong corporate background working at various firms including Corporate Communications Limited (now Colour), Maritime Life, Shandwick International and the Information Technology Institute (ITI).
Along the way he has also been a columnist for the The Daily News (Bedford Beat) and The Chronicle Herald (Buzz from the Burbs) and Bedford magazine.
He is also regularly interviewed by various media organizations regarding business news or trends.
McHugh has also consulted for many organizations throughout the years. Most of this work has been done for small to medium sized enterprises and many not-for-profit organizations.

From 1998 – 2007 Ed was the Academic Chair for the School of Business. Ed has been a full-time business faculty member since 2008.
